- Considering the party had started as an offhand comment about 'throw some steaks on the grill,' it was going remarkably well for an off-the-cuff gathering. The food was great, the music was just right, and the laughter was hearty and loud.
- Not only had Santana met some wonderful people who she felt would become great friends, she'd finally reconnected with her cousin Jadzia, and she met their daughter, her cousin Cynthia. Solomon hadn't talked with Darius in the four years that he and Jadzia had been together as a couple, and the brothers were finally together again. He had to explain to his brother and niece that, with the nature of their relationship, coming out to anyone who knew they were father and daughter, was risky. Solomon loved Jazzy more than life; he wasn't about to allow anything that could hurt her. He said he'd rather be safe than sorry, and he didn't regret his choice one bit. Darius, now in the same situation, certainly understood.
- Santana had already met Darby earlier today. Now she met Nate Rochester and his wife Nora, also his daughter, along with their son, and Jake and Darby's daughter as well. They also had a recent newborn daughter. There were four children here, all born in incest, and all of them were perfectly healthy. Apparently, they had no idea that their parents were also their siblings and grandparents. They'd all agreed to keep that secret unless absolutely necessary. It made Santana's heart soar with the possibilities for the future. Seeing all these couples and families like hers, plus the knowledge that there were more just like them out there, made her know that their lifestyle, while not necessarily conventional, was also not unheard of. And now, she knew that her and her father could make it long term. She was holding Jake's newborn daughter when her phone rang. She looked at it, and saw it was Cassidy calling. Handing the baby girl back to Darby, she took the call, stepping inside the house away from the noise of the party.
